Through a Crystal Ball: Using Bacterial Signatures to Predict Intestinal Diseases

Each of us has a mix microbes that colonizes our intestines, as unique fingerprints. Most are beneficial and essential for keeping healthy. If the in intestines out balance too many harmful take control, intestinal diseases might result. Recent advances computers laboratory methods have helped scientists understand much more about their signatures: who they are, what do, which useful or substances produce. We wanted to know bacteria can cause diseases, whether we could use these bacterial signatures foresee futures patients. analyzed patients with identified certain produce compounds. This information help doctors predict is at risk developing disease treatment work best each patient.
